Frederic Chopin died in 1849, but what if he had been born in 1949? Perhaps he'd be composing music by day, working at a jazz club by night, and living on the Upper West Side in New York City --maybe not far from composer Bruce Adolphe.
At least that's how Adolphe imagines Chopin's 21st century life would be. Inspired by that vision, Adolphe has composed a new suite called Chopin Dreams. The music is influenced by Chopin's famous melodies, but also imagines what a modern-day Chopin would sound like when writing for piano.
Adolphe dedicated the music to pianist Carlo Grante and both musicians joined Fred Child in the studio to perform and discuss Chopin Dreams.
