Dignity
From Angélique Kidjo’s website: “Kidjo joined forces with Afropop singer Yemi Alade for this glorious anthem inspired by the youth-led movement to disband the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, aka SARS, an infamously corrupt unit in the Nigerian Police Force.”
Do Yourself
Kidjo said in an interview with Pitchfork, “With Burna Boy, we have written the anthem for a new Africa—laced with modernity, beauty, and energy. We revere Africa because she is the birthplace of all humanity. We won’t let her fall apart. We know she is strong, like metal and steel. A long time ago, we learned that if you want Africa to change, you have to do it yourself!”
Africa, One Of A Kind
Africa, One of a Kind is devoted to her motherland, Africa. It is a fusion of three languages: Bambara, English (Nigerian Pidgin) and Yoruba. The song features Mr. Eazi and Salif Keita.
