New Classical Tracks - Jan Vogler

Jan Vogler, cello: Lalo and Casals Cello Concertos; with Josep Caballé Domenech and the Moritzburg Festival Orchestra (Sony Classical)

“I have many crazy ideas,” cellist Jan Vogler says. “It's like I wake up in the morning, sometimes even after a short night … and I suddenly have all these ideas. And then I torture my agent, and I write to her and say, ‘I have this idea.’ And of course, she finds the idea wonderful.” That’s how he ended up with his most recent recording, where he pairs Edouard Lalo’s Cello Concerto with the world premiere recording of the Cello Concerto by Enrique Casals — the brother of legendary Spanish cellist Pablo Casals. Find out more on New Classical Tracks, with host Julie Amacher.
