Franz Lehar's "The Merry Widow" has that certain "it" quality for a stage work: a story real enough not to be farce, but also fantastic enough to create some delightful theatrical make-believe. All that coupled with a hit parade of a score. First performed in 1905, "The Merry Widow" made Lehar a very rich man.
The Skylark Opera's production begins this weekend at the E. M. Pearson Theater. The leads are a husband and wife team, Vicki Fingalson and Jeffrey Madison.
They joined host Steve Staruch along with the Artistic Director of Skylark Opera, Steve Stucki, for a preview.
