For the past several years, Russian-born pianist Denis Evstuhin has called the Twin Cites home.
He received an Artist Diploma in Piano from Hamline University and is currently studying with University of Minnesota professor Alexander Braginsky.
Evstuhin played the first round in the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw, Poland. Sadly, he did not advance to the next round.
But his playing did earn him at least a coveted spot at the live competition and you can listen now online to a pre-competition recital he gave at Sundin Hall at Hamline University on September 19.
His performance of four Chopin Impromptus from that performance is in today's Regional Spotlight.
