The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, LAGQ, is one of the most nimble ensembles in classical music. They focus on classical music, but leave time to explore other musical genres as well: jazz, pop, bossa nova, and bluegrass for starters. The musicians joined Fred Child in the studio recently to talk about the what music Don Quixote would have enjoyed, how to make the guitar sound like a drum, and what's next for this terrific quartet.
Musical performances include:
* Andrew York: Djembe
* William Kanengiser (arr.): Music from the Time of Cervantes
* Miles Davis, arr. Matthew Greif: Blue in Green
* Paolo Bellinati: A furiosa
