Cellist Zuill Bailey has performed with orchestras all over the world, but this concert was unusual. The musicians of this orchestra are prisoners at the Hiland Mountain Correctional Center in Eagle River, Alaska. A non-profit organization called Arts on the Edge teaches the women inmates how to hold a bow, how to play together in an ensemble, and how music can be a part of their rehabilitation. This winter they invited Zuill Bailey to be the featured soloist at their concert. He describes for PT arriving at the facility and the impact this music had on him.
