Two of the newest choral ensembles and one of the most established in the area share the Regional Spotlight this week. Monte Mason's Gregorian Singers (from a Fourtieth Anniversary performance in February) are sandwiched between the Academy of Voices (formerly the State Fair Singers) and The Mirandola Ensemble. Both of these ensembles are in their second season!
It's an all Latin program today with Paul Mealor's "Ubi Caritas" followed by composer Monte Mason's "Scio enim" and then two of the Tenebrae Responsories by Gesualdo, "Aestimatus sum" and "Sepulto Domino."
Old and new music from newer and...more mature groups are in the Regional Spotlight.
