John Orfe's new work, "Infinite Expectations of the Dawn" gives musical voice to a text by Henry David Thoreau. Like so much of Thoreau's writing, the sentiment is optimistic and even joyful. "If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them."
The Orfe piece is a recent commission from the Choral Arts Ensemble (CAE) in Rochester Minnesota. Music Director Rick Kvam leads the CAE in this new piece with a few choral classics the from a May 5, 2013 concert.
