Nathan Chan is a 19 year-old cellist from northern California and a student at the Aspen Music Festival and School. He joined Performance Today host Fred Child onstage at Harris Hall to perform and to talk about his musical goals not just for himself, but for the audience. Rather than just hearing how a piece of music begins and ends, Chan wants to communicate to audience every step it takes to climb the musical mountain. He's joined by pianist Carlos Avila to play the Andante from Sergei Rachmaninoff's Cello Sonata in G minor and Tambourin Chinois by Fritz Kreisler.
