Frank Tenczar is a retired IT guy who fell in love with the music of Mahler as a kid in Chicago in the 1960s. He and his buddies would inhabit the local "record store" listening to anything and everything classical in the booth. It was the time when you could listen to an "album" before buying it. Tenczar is a man of few words, " Mahler 1st, New York Phil, Bernstein, that was it!" But there are also stories of camping in northern Minnesota along with tales about the musicians from the (then) Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, and an all-Mahler program too.
