For our weekly feature, "Moveable Feast," Rachel Hutton of Minnesota Monthly joins John Birge to talk about where to go and what to eat in Minnesota.
With the Minnesota Orchestra playing a concert in celebration of the grand re-opening of the University of Minnesota's grande dame, Northrop Auditorium, John and Rachel talk about where to eat in Dinkytown; i.e. in and around the university campus.
Rachel suggests one could spend a day progressively eating in Dinkytown, starting with a stack of the famous sourdough pancakes at Al's Breakfast.
From there, one can move on to lunch with a burger at Annie's Parlour, a semolina-laced dish a Loring Pasta Bar, Asian cuisine at Shuang Cheng, or the many options for sushi at the fairly recent addition, OneTwoThree Sushi.
And there's more to come: Surdyk's will open a cafe in the reopened Northrop. Stay tuned.
