Dr. William Halverson has spent the last 30 years working with Edvard Grieg's music.
This Saturday marks the 200th anniversary of Norway's Declaration of Independence (although Norway wasn't fully independent from Sweden until 1905).
Dr. Halverson is a former professor at Augsburg College and Ohio State University. He explains Grieg's personal involvement in Norway's struggle for freedom on today's Learning to Listen on Classical MPR.
