Who exactly are the Rose Ensemble?
"If you asked anyone in the ensemble," says artistic director Jordan Sramek, "they would have a different answer and maybe that's what makes this ensemble so special."
The marvelous music-making of one of the most unique ensembles in the world — and one right here in Minnesota — is the Rose Ensemble. This is the group's 19th season presenting concerts that use the power and beauty of the voice to stir the emotions, challenge the mind, and lift the spirit.
On Thursday, Sept. 18, the Rose Ensemble will give a free concert in Minneapolis to preview yet another fascinating season filled with surprises. I got to speak to founder and artistic director Jordan Sramek who gives us a little preview of the upcoming season.
Listen to my interview with Jordan, and then listen to the bonus music track, Beatus Franciscus , by Jerónimo de Aliseda (1548 - 1591), recorded live at Saint Olaf College on Sept. 27, 2013
