The story is that Mozart composed his Kegelstatt Trio for Clarinet, Viola and Piano while playing a game of lawn bowling. He must have bowled well, because his trio is a winning piece; one of his most popular chamber music works.
A performance with Osmo Vänskä, Thomas Turner and Susan Billmeyer is in this week's Regional Spotlight. The performance was recorded at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth.
