The Ancia Saxophone Quartet play the "Canzona and Variations" from the Alexander Glazunov Saxophone Quartet. Composed in 1932, this Russian work is filled with dark sonorities as well as playful sarcasm.
You'll hear the Ancia Saxophone Quartet in a stylish performance given this past April in a Rochester (Minn.) Chamber Music Society recital.
