Why did you choose this piece?
Picture daybreak on a spring morning. Birds chirping, sunlight streaming through the wispy clouds, a new day dawning. Tournier was inspired by a similar spring setting. From its intricate arpeggios to enharmonics and glissandos, Au Matin is a beautiful representation of the harp. Tournier showcases both the light side and the dramatic side of the harp in this piece.
Playing Au Matin stretches me mentally and physically. I love a good challenge. Performing is my passion and a welcome challenge. My goal as a performer is to show my audience what the harp can do.
