Lyric tenor Jack Swanson is a Stillwater, Minn. native currently studying Vocal Performance at Rice University in Houston, Texas.
In 2014, he joined the prestigious Santa Fe Opera Apprentice Program. He performed several leading roles while pursuing his undergraduate degree at The University of Oklahoma, including Nemorino in L'elisir d'amore, Fenton in Falstaff and Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni.
Swanson was also a young artist with the Seagle Music Colony for two summers, where he performed the title role in Britten's comedic opera Albert Herring.
In 2015, Swanson placed First in Florida Grand Opera's Young Patroness Competition, The San Antonio Music Club competition and the National Opera Association.
Swanson's concert credits include the entirety of Handel's Messiah and the tenor role in Dubois' The Seven Last Words of Christ. He is currently a student of renowned voice teacher Stephen King.
