Rossini was a famous composer who wrote over 40 operas, then quit the music business in his mid-thirties to host dinner parties. His name applies to a famous dish: Tournedos a la Rossini. It's filet mignon on buttered toast with foie gras and truffles and a decadent veal stock based sauce: ultra-decadent!
