It was just over 30 years ago that a film franchise was launched by director Robert Zemeckis — Back to the Future.
Back to the Future is a modern American classic. Set in 1985, the film follows the travels and travails of Marty McFly, a teenager who is accidentally transported back in time to 1955.
Problematically, he begins to interact with his future parents, setting off a chain of events that could prove personally disastrous if left unremedied. In typical science-fiction-comedy-adventure style, Marty must fix the past if he is to have a future.
Alan Silvestri composed the epic soundtrack to this film, and his music is just one of the many elements that makes this film a beloved and enduring classic. On this week's Flicks in Five, we'll hear some of Silvestri's popular score from Back to the Future.
