What are your goals as a musician/performer/group?
As a musician and performer, my goal is to, no matter how infinitesimal, make some sort of intimate difference in the lives of others through my artistic work.
The arts are about community, about beauty, about understanding the world around us. They're about self-expression, about making statements that are worth standing in front of a crowded room for; the arts are about making differences. Life is full of opportunities to make a difference, a tapestry woven by endless chains of choices, of cause and effect, and it's our duty as artists of this world to consider our effect and use it for something greater.
I strive to be someone who can positively influence someone else's life, and the performing arts can be one of the most beautiful and authentic ways to accomplish that. As author Shannon Alder said: "If you were born with the ability to change someone's perspective or emotions, never waste that gift."
