Why did you choose this piece?
I chose this piece because not only did it challenge my technique, but I was also drawn to the rhythms, dancelike character, and the fire and passion that it evokes in both the listener and the performer. This piece allowed me to expand my musical horizons beyond the typical baroque, classical, and romantic era pieces that I had been working on prior to this, so it was a fun departure from the standard violin repertoire.
