Why did you choose this piece?
The Cello Concerto in D minor by French composer Edouard Lalo has an incredibly rich offering of tone and character. I identify with the complexity of feelings in this piece and that is why I have enjoyed studying it so much. It can evoke great emotion both in the performer and in the listener. I wanted the challenge of performing this piece via audio for the MPR family of listeners because I think this music can be experienced more deeply when there are fewer distractions.
