By far my favorite piece I have ever played, "Poem," with its juxtaposition of the sinister, slow introduction against frenzied twelve-tone rows, reminds me of the discombobulating nature of life in the 21st century: sometimes nonsensical, often passing by too quickly, but always imbued with an intensely breathtaking beauty.
