Flicks in Five -- 2001: A Space Odyssey

Back in 1968, a film was made that revolutionized the science fiction genre. 

Directed by Stanley Kubrick (who also wrote the screenplay), 

 dealt with human evolution, technology, artificial intelligence, and extraterrestrial life — all the elements that make a great science fiction tale great.

The soundtrack was extremely important to the movie. In particular, three classical pieces served as recurring 

 for the film's storyline: Johann Strauss's 

 and perhaps most famously, Richard Strauss's 

On this week's Flicks in Five, we'll travel back to Hal and Dave arguing about the pod bay doors in 

2001:  A Space Odyssey - Trailer [1968] HD

Lynne has been at this radio thing since 1984 when she fell into an historic job at KFAC AM and FM, the commercial classical station in Los Angeles.  She was the first woman staff announcer in the station's history, and it was such big news back then, it made the LA newspapers and national radio publications.  She is thrilled women in radio is no longer newsworthy.
