Classical music host Andrea Blain lived and worked in Ireland for over 30 years before returning to the United States to join the classical-music team at American Public Media. This Friday, March 17, is St. Patrick's Day, and Andrea will be introducing a little bit o' Irish into her Music Through the Night playlist.
From Beethoven's setting of an Irish drinking song to violin virtuoso Nigel Kennedy's take on "Danny Boy," Andrea will explore some of the ways Irish music has influenced classical composers from Ireland and beyond.
