A native of Thessaloniki, Russian-Greek cellist Timotheos Petrin has performed as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral musician across Europe, Asia, and North America. He is a winner of Astral Artist's 2015 National Auditions.
Mr. Petrin recently debuted with the Kansas City Symphony, under Robert Spano. He has also been as soloist with the Athens State Symphony Orchestra, Kennett Symphony, Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, and the Greek-Turkish Youth Orchestra. An avid chamber musician, Mr. Petrin has collaborated with such important musical figures and ensembles as eighth blackbird, PRISM saxophone quartet, Roberto Diaz, Steven Tenenbom, Meng-Chieh Liu, Ignat Solzhenitsyn, Noah Bendix-Balgley, Yura Lee, and Itamar Zorman.
Mr. Petrin entered the Curtis Institute of Music in 2012, where he studies with Carter Brey, principal cellist of the New York Philharmonic, and Peter Wiley, cellist of the Guarneri Quartet.
