On Friday, Sept. 15, the Minnesota Orchestra begins its new season as Osmo Vänskä conducts the suite from Stravinsky's ballet The Firebird. Also in the program are works by John Adams, Hector Berlioz and Maurice Ravel, along with the U.S. premiere of the second violin concerto by Swedish composer Anders Hillborg; violinist James Ehnes joins the orchestra as the soloist on the Hillborg piece.
