This week, Nathalie Stutzmann makes her Minnesota Orchestra conducting debut in a concert program featuring music of Beethoven, Mozart and Prokofiev.
Stutzmann is a multi-talented musician: as a contralto, she has performed in Carnegie Hall, at Vienna's Musikverein and at the BBC Proms; she is a pianist and bassoonist; and she's also a conductor. Morever, Stutzmann has founded her own orchestra, Orfeo 55.
The featured soloist this week is clarinetist Bixby Kennedy, a Tennessee native who recently completed his master's degree at Yale University's School of Music. Kennedy performs on Mozart's final completed work, the Clarinet Concerto.
Join host Melissa Ousley on Friday, Oct. 13, at 8 p.m., to listen to the broadcast of the Minnesota Orchestra in concert, live from Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis.
