Composer and conductor Renee Baker is indeed a force to be reckoned with: she's an accomplished instrumentalist; she conducts ensembles all over the world; she is the founding music director of the Chicago Modern Orchestra Project and nowadays dabbles in scoring films. Baker spent 25 years as the principal violist for the Chicago Sinfonietta and has so far composed hundreds of works. Under her leadership, the Chicago Modern Orchestra Project plays music from every genre and specifically highlights the original works of living composers. Her most recent endeavor is a residency with the Seattle-based Kin of the Moon Chamber Music Series.
