Joseph Conyers is the assistant principal bassist of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Conyers is also a gifted chamber musician and educator who is committed to education and community engagement through music. In 2007, along with two other colleagues, Conyers founded the youth education program Project 440 in Philadelphia. Project 440 aims to cultivate community leadership by exposing young people to music while teaching them career and life skills. Conyers also serves as the music director of Philadelphia's All City Orchestra and sits on the National Advisory Board of the Atlanta Music Project.
