Titus Underwood is the acting principal oboe of the Nashville Symphony, and previously served as the associate principal oboe of the Utah Symphony. Originally from Pensacola, Florida, Underwood grew up in a musical home with his parents and five siblings. Underwood attended the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Juilliard School of Music and in addition to an active orchestral career he has also worked with the PRIZM Ensemble in Memphis, Tennessee. Underwood is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion in American orchestras and regularly presents on this topic.
