Cuban composer and guitarist Leo Brouwer's newest piece for guitar quartet and flute receives its world premiere on Friday, May 3, at Hamline University's Sundin Music Hall. The piece was commissioned by the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet and flutist Linda Chatterton. But Brouwer's Ballade of the Forest and the Bird receives its radio premiere today when the quartet and Chatterton join Steve Staruch in the Maud Moon Weyerhaeuser Studio to talk about and perform this newly commissioned work.
