Jamaican-American violist Jordan Bak is the first violist to debut as a Performance Today Young Artist in Residence. He is the 2019 winner of the John White Special Prize from the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition and is a member of the Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players in New York City. Bak grew up in Far Rockaway, Queens and received his Bachelor of Music from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Alongside his performance schedule, Bak is a faculty member with the Opportunity Music Project in New York and serves as a teaching assistant for The Juilliard School in New York city.
Currently, Bak is enrolled in the Artist Diploma program at The Juilliard School where he also received his Master's degree. He is the third violist in history to be enrolled in Juilliard's Artist Diploma program.
Bak was joined in these performances by pianist Ji Yung Lee.
