Bassist and composer Xavier Foley sees genres as “limitations best left ignored.” He’s a sought-after performer of the standard repertoire, but also a rising-star composer too — and Steve Seel features his work “Cranberry Sauce” for bass and violin this week. Foley will also tell you that his main career inspiration was bassist Edgar Meyer, and Steve plays Meyer’s genre-defying String Quintet on the show as well.
