Molly Joyce finds a new way to compose music

Extra Eclectic - Oct. 26, 2022

Composer and performer Molly Joyce’s music is primarily concerned with using a disability as a creative source. After an auto accident that deformed her left hand, she began to explore ways to be musical that accommodated her disability. In graduate school, she began an independent study on disability and the arts. During that study, she found that her disabled hand allowed her to create distinct music that incorporated the differing abilities of her hands. Listen to her music and more on this week's episode of Extra Eclectic, with guest host Ward Jacobson.
