The Chamber Music Society of Minnesota is cueing up a family-friendly concert Sunday, Dec. 4, that features music and clips from childhood favorites such as The Wizard of Oz and Bambi.
The Chamber Music Society is a bijou in St. Paul that was founded in 1992 by artist director Young-Nam Kim. It seeks to promote upcoming artists in classical music.
Its annual family concert will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in Sundin Music Hall at Hamline University in St. Paul. (Admission is free for students K-12, $20 for seniors and $25 for adults.)
Also on the program is “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from Mary Poppins, “Somewhere Out There” from An American Tail and “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from Encanto.
Gabriel Campos Zamora, principal clarinet of the Minnesota Orchestra, also will be featured in some of the songs and in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet.
Completing the ensemble will be Kim and Arian Kim on violin, Sabina Thatcher on viola, Anthony Ross on cello and Timothy Lovelace on piano.
