Saturday Cinema, with host Lynne Warfel, celebrates great film music every week and now it’s giving away a new recording that does the same: Hollywood Gala, an 80-minute program performed by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra on CD and Blu-ray, courtesy of EuroArts. Enter below for your chance to win!
For Hollywood Gala, film-music expert Ludwig Wicki conducts the Danish National Symphony Orchestra in riveting performances of popular scores by favorite movie composers, including John Williams (Superman, Jurassic Park, E.T.), Hans Zimmer (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, Wonder Woman, Gladiator) and James Horner (Titanic, Braveheart). Vocalists Andrea Oehlenschlæger and Diluckshan Jeyaratnam join the program for a few hit songs from the soundtracks, too. The full audio program is presented on CD, with a video version presented in high definition on Blu-ray with Dolby Atmos 7.1 audio.
Be sure to listen to Saturday Cinema at 10 a.m. central Saturday, Jan. 14, when music from pirate movies will be featured, including Pirates of the Caribbean.
