When Dmitri Tiomkin collaborated with Frank Capra for the final time, little did he know most of his fabulous music score would wind up on the cutting room floor. The studio changed the release date from Spring 1947 to Christmas 1946, and the biggest casualty was Tiomkin’s score. David Newman and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra perform a reconstructed extended version of what Tiomkin had in mind.
