"I like pushing things. I like fighting and watching TV!" is a line from "Before We Get Dusty," one of two pieces sung by the Minnesota Boy Choir from the song cycle, "Where Beauty Comes From" by poet Julia Singer and composer Tim Takach.
Composer and poet were commissioned by the American Composer's Forum earlier this year. The program, Healing and Hope Through Song, put both in area children's hospitals for visits that were the inspiration for poetry and music.
In this week's Regional Spotlight are "Before We Get Dusty" and "Paper Cranes" from a performance this past June with the Minnesota Boy Choir.
Regional Spotlight airs Thursday at 3 p.m. on Classical MPR stations and web stream.
