Matt Uelmen uses a healthy mixture of musical influences to create scores to games like Torchlight II and Diablo.
The opening chords to Diablo were inspired by the fantasy rockers, Led Zeppelin. You'll hear Richard Wagner's Tristan und Isolde in his score for Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. Chopin in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. Other influences include Joni Mitchell and Claude Debussy.
Matt spent a lot of time putting the soundtrack album together for Torchlight II, each piece moving seamlessly to the next. One of my favorite pieces is called "Echo Pass."
In addition to writing the score, Matt also worked on overall sound design, creating sound effects and editing the voice tracks implemented in Torchlight II.
