Saturday at 10 a.m., join host Lynne Warfel for classical music from the movies. Today's theme continues from last week, presenting music from all-time great movies (according to the American Film Institute).
Titles include such classics as Gone with the Wind, Star Wars, The Big Country — films with scores composed by Max Steiner, John Williams and Jerome Moross, respectively. We'll also listen to Leonard Bernstein's contributions to Hollywood in On the Waterfront and West Side Story.
And continuing in this filmic thread, MPR's Cube Critics, Euan Kerr and Stephanie Curtis, talk about how hard it is to depict the creative writing process and the lives of writers on screen. However, they do recall a couple of successful films about the creative process:
