Composer Dren McDonald partnered with a string quartet for The String Arcade — a CD of video game music. Proceeds from the album go to the Alameda Music Project in California. It's based on the famous Venezuelan music education program called El Sistema.
Dren took inspiration from John Lurie's 1984 soundtrack to Stranger Than Paradise:
Dren decided to arrange popular game music for the album, which was funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign.
