The "Maestros of Video Games" panel features six composers. On today's episode of Top Score, you'll get to know three of them a bit better.
Martin O'Donnell is best known for his music to nearly every game in the Halo series. O'Donnell was instrumental in encouraging developers to release soundtracks from games.
O'Donnell's newest project is for the highly-anticipated Destiny, the most expensive game ever made (at a cool $500 million). Paul McCartney also contributed music for Destiny's score.
Darren Korb is from Supergiant Games, the studio that gave us Bastion, and most recently, Transistor.
Korb isn't an orchestral guy, but he sure nails whatever sound he's aiming for. The soundtrack he wrote for Bastion was critically acclaimed, and he followed that with another fantastic score for Transistor.
Oleksa Lozowchuk scored the most recent games in the Dead Rising series. I'm new to Lozowchuk's music, and I absolutely love it. He has a way with a song, and writes terrific instrumental music as well.
