On Thursday, Oct. 23, we aired our latest Archive on the Radio special, with exclusive performances from Philip Brunelle and VocalEssence.

The program includes pieces by Dominick Argento, Stephen Paulus and Libby Larsen, to name a few.

These recorded performances by the VocalEssence Ensemble Singers were selected from from MPR's vast Classical Archive of recorded concerts.

This coming Sunday, Oct. 26, at 4 p.m., at Orchestra Hall, you can hear the VocalEssence Ensemble Singers live, in the inaugural concert of their 46th season. "Made In Minnesota" features choral music written by Minnesota composers including three that are featured on this recorded special: Argento, Larsen and Paulus, and "new generation" Minnesota composers like Jocelyn Hagen and Dessa.

And Dale Warland will conduct VocalEssence in "Seasons," a piece written for him by Argento and premiered this past summer at the Minnesota Beethoven Festival in Winona.
