There are millions of students looking for somebody or something to embrace, enthuse, and educate them. Ann Kay and Bill Jones, founders of the Rock 'n' Read project, are finding those students one at at time.
If you ever get a chance to talk with Jones and Kay about their mission, you will immediately feel their infectious passion for this program and what it offers to students. When I asked about their ultimate goal of the program, Bill Jones didn't hesitate in offering this answer. "The only thing that matters is we've got to start getting kids reading, we've got to close that achievement gap between students of color and white students, and the only way to do it is attack it with programs that can motivate and excite children.", exclaimed Jones. I couldn't agree with them more.
In today's episode of Sing to Inspire, we talk about the importance of giving our students hope through music. To learn more about this transformational program, click the audio player above.
