Nita Qiu is a 15-year-old pianist from Woodbury, Minn. Last year she was a Minnesota Varsity showcase artist.
Classical MPR host Julie Amacher recently caught up with Nita and talked with her about her Minnesota Varsity experience and the benefits that the program offers young musicians between 14 and 18. Nita played Chopin's Nocturne, Op. 15, No. 2, in F sharp minor in the Maud Moon Weyerhauser studio.
This Sunday, Dec. 3, at noon, you'll hear her perform music of Alberto Ginastera when she appears on NPR's From the Top on Classical MPR.
