On Saturday, Nov. 12, violinist Joshua Bell returned as a special guest with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, where he performed Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1. On Saturday, Oct. 1, pianist and composer Conrad Tao made his St. Paul Chamber Orchestra debut in a program built around Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s monumental Piano Concerto No. 24.
The concert opened with Ruth Crawford-Seeger’s Music for Small Orchestra, which framed a program containing a Renaissance madrigal by Carlo Gesualdo, a sunny keyboard concerto by C.P.E. Bach and a cryptic work for viola and piano by Morton Feldman. Listen now!
