Whether or not you enjoyed returning to school after summer vacation, we were all in the same boat. Today, celebrate (or not) schools in cinema with “Tom Brown’s Schooldays”, “Goodbye, Mr. Chips”, “Harry Potter” and more.

Ingrid Bergman and Gregory Peck were huge stars for decades. They gave us great films like “Gaslight”, “Notorious”, “To Kill a Mockingbird” and they lit up the screen together in “Spellbound”. Films of Peck and Bergmann on today’s show.

A Saturday Cinema listener requested scores from Sergio Leone Westerns, the so-called "Spaghetti Westerns" of the 1960s. We tacked on some of Hollywood's finest, "The Cowboys", "Stagecoach", "Legends of the Fall", so saddle up. Time to ride!

They met in high school in NYC, and soon Jerome Moross and Bernard Herrmann became fast friends. They pursued the same careers, both worked with Aaron Copland early on at Tanglewood. We celebrate the 108th birthday of Jerome Moross and invited his lifelong pal along for the ride.
