Jan Lisiecki - Chopin: Works for Piano and Orchestra (Deutsche Grammophon); NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestre - Krzysztof Urbanski
"This was probably my most challenging recording to date — even more challenging than the Chopin Etudes," says 22-year-old Canadian pianist Jan Lisiecki.
Jan recently released his fifth recording, which features some rarely heard works for piano and orchestra by Chopin. "And because the works were unknown — which gives, of course, incredible liberty — there's very little tradition to go on, but at the same time and an incredible obligation to fulfill it because you would like to present these works in the best possible view," he says.
